I feel it was a very good deal. It is fast and appears to be very accurate (it measured Ice at 0C). It is ruggedly constructed and I can wear it around my neck with out it falling out of the probe cover.
The product has functioned perfectly, it is rapid, easy to use and clean and handles well
On thinner cuts- steak it was very comparable, just slow. On a very thick pork roast it was off by 20 degrees compared to my more expensive $100 Thermometer. Thermometer is good value for money, but takes a long time to get a reading. 7-9 seconds.
It doesn't seem to last very long. When it worked, it was great. I bought this product in October 2007 and the screen stopped working in January 2008. The company gladly replaced the product in February 2008 with an identical model and the replacement died with the same exact issue in November 2008.
I really appriciate that it is water proof. The only thing I would like to see is a little quicker response. I really like this unit. It works well.
